3 postdoctoral positions in "Genomics of leaf senescence"

Umeň Plant Science Centre (UPSC) seeks three postodoctoral fellows, working in the program "Comparative genomics on leaf senescence". The overall aim is to get basic knowledge of the process i.e. to characterize the genes/proteins/metabolic pathways that are of importance for leaf senescence. The program has three parts, 1) Signals that induce senescence (P.I. Stefan Jansson), 2) Metabolic activity during senescence (P.I. Per Gardestr÷m) and 3) Proteases involved in senescence (P.I. Christiane Funk), and each postdoctoral fellow will work in one or more of these areas. The main model systems are Arabidopsis and Poplar, where excellent genomic tools are available. The program is funded for three years, postdoctoral positions are for one year with the possibility of extension. A copy of the research program will be sent upon request, please contact .

Applicants should have a PhD in plant physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field. Applications, with CV, statement of research interests and contact information for three references, should be sent to Stefan Jansson, UPSC, Department of Plant Physiology, Umeň University, S-901 87 Umeň, Sweden, Email:  not later than December 20. Preferred starting date is during the first half of .

UPSC is a leading lab for experimental plant science in northern Europe. Over 150 persons work with different aspects of plant biology and there are excellent facilities for e. g. trangenic plant generation and growth, genomics, metabolomics and proteomics, that will be utilized in the program.
